Note about 4D v17 32-bit versions

4D’s 64-bit architecture is the way to go in the future. It allows you to take full advantage of your hardware and today’s modern technology, so you can have access to the maximum possible speeds and the latest features.

Many of these features are only available in 64-bit architecture, such as:

Besides better speed and features, Apple began reducing the usability of its 32-bit products with macOS 10.13.4 and will continue usability reductions with future macOS versions. Apple has deprecated its 32-bit architecture and is no longer supporting it. This means that future problems (i.e., bugs) relating to it will not be addressed.

4D Server on Windows has been available in a 64-bit release since 4D v12. With 4D v16 the 32-bit release of 4D Server on Windows was deprecated. It is no longer available with 4D v17.

We strongly recommend using your applications with 64-bit versions.

The documentation provides help for migrating from 32-bit to 64-bit versions.

The remaining 32-bit releases in the 4D Product line (4D Server on Mac, 4D Volume Desktop, and Developer Edition Mac and Windows) can still be downloaded here, but have been deprecated and will no longer be available with future major releases of 4D.
